Under the inquiry based learning our grade V& VI team planned to visit Pokhara, Australian camp and Gerung village Dhampus of Kaski district. Our team started after hot breakfast in Pokhara at Moon Light resort in Lakeside. After an hour’s smooth drive we reached Kande, the starting point of this short trekking of Australian camp. Dhampus Village trek. Australian camp. Set on the beautiful hill top offers striking views of the Annapurna Mountain range. The trail is steep; through stone stair cases for about 2 and half hours gets to Australian camp, located on the ridge and having an incredible view of Annapurna south, Himalchuli, Machhaputchhre and Lampung Himal.From Australian camp we hiked down to continue through perfect jungler trail with birds chirping sounded our trek to continue to beautiful village Dhampus which took about two hours. Dhampus village is on the Annapurna trekking trail is blessed with majestic views of the Annapurna Himalayan range. The village is attractive, a number of slate roofed house. Trek is best for those wishing to experience Nepal mountain scenery and ethnic culture and structure of society and development of local civilization within a short time.
After Dhampus village one more hour we walked down to Phedi through the terraced rice farmlands and we also could extend this small luxury trek with 1 Night stay at Sarangkot which is best popular for its panoramic view offering stunning sun rise view along with brilliant mountain scenery, delightful view of Pokhara valley, Fewa Lake. Especially in the night time we could enjoy the beautiful night lights of Pokhara city. We categorized this short trip as a luxury lodge trek to Annapurna on our inquiry based learning.
We also visited the famous temples, Georges and international museum to relate our study.It provided us as a great impression of the Himalayas in all her magnificence.
